From mweber@head.cfa.harvard.edu Tue Jun 7 01:43:05 2005 Date: Tue, 7 Jun 2005 01:43:04 -0400 (EDT) From: Mark Weber To: Leon Golub , Ed Deluca , Jay Bookbinder , Peter Cheimets , Jonathan Cirtain Subject: E2E 20050606 Shift-B Science Report. The Best Focus I sub-test was performed and analyzed. In the first phase, on-axis images were taken at focus step positions from -2500 to +2500. This data was fitted with 2D Gaussians, and the RSS widths were fitted with a 2nd degree polynomial. The fitted minimum determined the coarse Best Focus position. In the second phase, images were taken at intervals of 20 focus steps from -1150 to -350. The data were fitted with 2D Gaussians, and the RSS widths were fitted with a 2nd degree polynomial. The fitted minimum determined the fine Best Focus position to be at focus step = -770. This corresponds to a position of -472 um. The data for the X-Ray Optical Axis alignment sub-test were taken. Images at 5x5 positions were taken, at 6 arc-minute intervals in pitch and yaw. Analysis will need to be completed by the morning shift. --Mark Weber
