From jcirtain@head.cfa.harvard.edu Tue Jun 7 20:43:08 2005 Date: Tue, 7 Jun 2005 20:43:07 -0400 (EDT) From: Jonathan Cirtain To: Mark Weber Cc: Leon Golub , Ed Deluca , Jay Bookbinder , Peter Cheimets Subject: E2E 20050607 Shift-A Science Report. At the start of the shift today I had to analyze the pitch / yaw scan data collected during the final hours of the evening shift. The results of these analysis are posted on the web page, and it was found that the initial pitch and yaw positions required a correction of (-2.90, 5.74) in p/y respectively. Using this result, a new (0,0) position was set. We then moved into section 6 of the procedure, and did the fine focus scan measurements. These consisted of 40 images taken every 10 step positions +/- 200 steps from the best focus position estimate during shift B on 20050606. I then re-calculated the best focus position using a second order polynomial and found the on-axis best focus to be at -515 um or -850 in focus steps. Much of this information is presented on the web site, including several of the plots. --Jonathan Cirtain _____________________________________________________________________________ Dr. Jonathan W.
