From mweber@head.cfa.harvard.edu Wed Jun 8 03:47:38 2005 Date: Wed, 8 Jun 2005 03:47:38 -0400 (EDT) From: Mark Weber To: Leon Golub , Ed Deluca , Jay Bookbinder , Jonathan Cirtain Cc: Peter Cheimets , mario cosmo , Jason Scott Subject: E2E 20050607 Shift-B Science Report. The transition from Shift-A to Shift-B occurred during the analysis of the Best Focus II data. The results are detailed in the Shift-A report and on the analysis webpage. Most of Shift-B was spent on Section 7 - FOV Optimized Focus Position. The BF position determined from the Best Focus II sub-test earlier in the day was used to estimate the location of the OF position. BF = -850 focus-steps = -515 um OF estimated = -1462 focus-steps = -798 um The FOV OF procedure then called for us to make 1D radial scans in pitch/yaw at several focus positions around the estimated OF. Each radial scan was 10 images from 6 to 15 arc-min off-axis. The focus positions scanned were -515 um, -615 um, -715 um, and -815 um. The results are presented on the analysis webpage. To summarize, the results are confusing as to whether we have bracketed the OF position yet. We expect the morning shift to continue this sub-test. Data was taken to test the VLI, but no analysis has been performed yet. The Test Conductor has requested that the morning shift begin by performing analysis on this VLI data. (The analysis team has communicated more details about procedures for both the VLI and OF analysis.)
