From jcirtain@head.cfa.harvard.edu Wed Jun 8 17:58:19 2005 Date: Wed, 8 Jun 2005 17:58:18 -0400 (EDT) From: Jonathan Cirtain To: Mark Weber Cc: Leon Golub , Ed Deluca , Jay Bookbinder , Peter Cheimets , mario cosmo , Jason Scott Subject: E2E 20050608 Shift-A Science Report. Shift A began by working out the VLI focus. It was determined by analysis that the changes in focus position had little effect on the images. It was concluded the the VLI has a very large depth of focus. It also appears that the co-alignment of the VLI is well with the one arc minute requirement. (It is around 35 arc seconds.) We were also able to go back to section 7 of the procedure and made a number of radial scans at various focus positions. We have completed the PSFs for these positions. _____________________________________________________________________________ Dr. Jonathan W.
