From jcirtain@head.cfa.harvard.edu Thu Jun 9 23:04:35 2005 Date: Thu, 9 Jun 2005 23:04:35 -0400 (EDT) From: Jonathan Cirtain To: Mark Weber Cc: Leon Golub , Ed Deluca , Jay Bookbinder , Peter Cheimets , mario cosmo , Jason Scott Subject: E2E 20050609 Shift-A Science Report. The analysis for tadaya centered around two main issues. Fisrt, an attmept to determine the offset between the VLI and X-ray optical axis was made. Several issues concerning this measurement have been resolved, and the calculations should be complete shortly. The PSF wing measurements at the best focus position were also started. We have taken nearly 100 images for this analysis. These include 75 8x8 summed 64 second exposure images, dark images, 10 full resolution 16 second images and a number of additonal images after the end of shift A. We have made plots of the integrated counts outside a radius of 4 and 8 pixels and will have plots of these results in the morning. We also started the filter tests, beginning with the Al filter. Subtantial counts were observed in the images using this filter and the Al source. These tests were to continue following the completion of additional images requested for PSF wing measurements. -Jonathan Cirtain
