Hot Plasma Related to a Prominence Eruption (click image to see corresponding movie)

The movie shows a large-scale coronal loop evolution at the SW limb following AR 11112. Ti/poly images with 384x384 were taken every 1 min (Top left). Al/thick and Al/mesh images with the same FOV were taken about every 1 hour (Bottom left and bottom right). Ti/poly images show the evolution of the coronal loop starting around 23:00UT on Oct. 21. Observations by Al_thick filter ( ~10MK) show brightening for a few hours around ~02:00UT on Oct. 22, indicating hot plasma. XRT took 8x8 binned images for flare detection during these observation (Top right). These 8x8 binned images show this event in a large field of view (2048x2048) helping us understand its global context. A SDO/AIA movie with images observed by 94 A , 193 A, and 335 A shows a prominence eruption at the SW limb with an absorption feature before its eruption, then brightness in emission. These observations could explain the heating of the prominence and ambient coronal plasma during the prominence's eruption through the corona.
