Candle flame shaped loops observed with XRT
|
AR 11166 observed by XRT on March 7th 2011 showed coronal loops in shape of candle flame. Such beautiful cusp-shaped structures have been observed before (e.g. see XPOW of February 4th 2011), and are considered a signature of on-going magnetic reconnection. These cusp-shaped features in AR 11166 are quite persistent, and have been observed at several hours of distance by XRT. Keywords: Cusp Filters: Al_poly+Ti_poly, Be_thin |
