Small Flare in AR12320

Hinode XRT observed a neat little flare from AR12320 on 12 April 2015. This region has been moderately active and Hinode tracked it for several days. At the beginning of the movie, the active region looks bright in the thin_be filter with many large loops wrapping around the bright inner core. Near the center, you will see a small bright horizontal line. This is the beginning of a flare. Those loops have so much energy that they begin to expand and fill up with extremely hot and bright plasma forming a line of bright loops. Finally, near the end of the flare, the loops continue to expand forming one large heart shaped loop. Keywords: Flare, AR Tracking Filters: thin_be |
