Supra-Arcade Plasma During an M5.4 Flare (click image to see corresponding movie)

An M 5.4 class flare too place near the limb on November 6, 2010. These wide field of view images (512"x512") show expanding hot plasma above the flare loops. Towards the end of the movie, the expanding plasma seems to rotate counterclockwise, indicating some untwisting of the magnetic fields as the eruption progreses.
