The Reappearing Active Region Blob

This movie shows AR 1130 as it approaches the limb, in XRT Ti_poly. In the extended loops above the active region core, a small blob appears to form, then dissipate, then re-form as the active region becomes more active. At first, this appears to be a visual effect from the intersection of the overlying loops, but its correlation with loop brightening in the core suggests that it is connected to the activity of the AR.
