Shrinking Arch
On July 5, 2008, XRT observed the brightening of a large arch off the east limb. The arch appeared in some thicker filters indicating a relatively high temperature. And it almost immediatley underwent a rapid shrinking (minutes) in height. One week later a polar crown filament cavity was seen on disk at the approximate location of this arch.
