Usage of XRT email lists.
Hello, XRT enthusiasts
I apologize if you receive this email more than once. We want to
reach everyone on the lists.
We would like to take this opportunity to remind everyone of our
several Majordomo email lists for XRT.
XRT_CO: This is for XRT Team members and Hinode operations personnel.
The subjects involve the operation and engineering for the instrument
and internal ideas for observations. Members are assumed to be
familiar with operations. There is a restricted access archive hosted
in Japan.
XRT_Science: This list is provided for people who are not on the core
Team, but who wish to discuss with us XRT's scientific objectives and
proposals for XRT observations. This is NOT the correct place to make
a proposal for Hinode observations!! --- it IS a resource to help you
prepare a proposal.) We do NOT assume that you are deeply familiar
with the operation of XRT. For example, if you would like to talk to
the Team about how you would like to study flares with XRT, then you
may contact us through this list. We encourage the solar community to
apply to this (controlled) list. There is a public archive site at
http://xrt.cfa.harvard.edu/community/xrt_science/ . It is linked from
the SAO XRT website from the menu item "Community" --> "XRT_SCIENCE
email list". (We have recently re-evaluated the use of this list, so
some of the older emails in the archive may seem off-topic.)
XRT_Users: This list is provided for people who are not on the core
Team, but who have problems with XRT software or data, or who have
announcements that are relevant to XRT. We encourage the solar
community to apply to this (controlled) list. By providing this list,
we hope that there will always be someone who can help you or discuss
a topic, even if XRT core Team members are not quickly available.
There is a public archive site at http://xrt.cfa.harvard.edu/
community/xrt_users/ . It is linked from the SAO XRT website from the
menu item "Community" --> "XRT_USERS email list".
If the XRT Team has an important announcement to make (e.g., updates
to the calibrations), we will broadcast it to all of these email
lists (and elsewhere).
Please do not assume that membership on one list automatically makes
you a member on every list. Each list is managed separately.
Thank you for your attention,
--Mark Weber
