This movie shows an M8.9 (GOES X-ray class) flare
in NOAA Active Region 10960, which produced multiple M-class
flares. Most of the images were taken with Ti_poly filter, and the
other images were taken with Al_thick, Be_thick, and Al_mesh filters.
Around 05:09 UT, this flare started with a brightening (which lasted
about 20 minutes) at the upper footpoints (marked with a white box)
of the brightest loop . What caused this long-lasting brightening?
During the flare, we see many complex expanding loops.
After the flare, the brightest loop showed up again
around 07:00 UT. Morever, the upper footpoint of this loop brightened
again, which seems to be caused by the interaction with another loop.
