XRT Sees X-Class Flare

On October 28th, 2021, XRT observed a major X-class flare exploding out of Active Region 12887. The still image shows the peak of this flare as seen by XRT across multiple filters and exposure times. The flare was strong enough to cause large blooming effects in the CCD camera, which can be seen in all four of these images. The movie shows full disk images taken in the lead up to the flare and then images showing the region after the major flare had subsided. Keywords: AR Tracking, Flare Filters: Al_Poly, Thin_Be |
