Amazingly Active Active Region 13296

The solar cycle is really picking up and with that we are seeing more and more flares from ARs as they cross the disk. The recent AR13296 really provided some activity during its time on the Sun. From its first appearance on May 2nd through going behind the limb on the afternoon of the 14th, the region was responsible for 78 C class or higher flares! (66 C, 12 M)

During an especially active period from 05/07 12UT to 05/12 4UT, the region produced a whopping 40 C flares and 9 M flares! The above videos show the data that XRT collected in Al-Poly and Thin-Be from the region during this time frame. Constant activity can be observed as the region continually fired off flare after flare.

The region didn't produce any X class flares (the largest was an M6.5 flare on the 9th) but it is still one of the most active active regions that we have seen so far in solar cycle 25 and produced some really good flare data.
