Flaring Region AR13376

It is becoming more and more common for Active Regions (ARs) on the Sun to produce a dramatic series of flares. Towards the end of July, AR13376 was another example of a region producing multiple C class flares and several M class flares. The above movie shows the flaring activity from this region that XRT captured in the Thin-Be filter over the course of several days. While none of these flares are super notable on their own, this is a level of activity that would have been very exciting a few years ago. It is a great time to have an instrument to capture flares in the X-ray on the Sun.
