A Solar Sneeze

Hinode XRT observed a solar flare accompanied by a CME on January 12, 2017. The C3.8 flare happened while the active region 12625 was on the East limb. Hinode XRT took long and short exposures, capturing the initial blowout of hot X-ray's and the subsequent post flare cusp.

The SOHO LASCO C2 data shows how quickly the coronal material blew away from the Sun.
