A Small Eruptive Event

Hinode XRT was focused on a small unnamed active region when it observed this rapid loop expansion and eruptive event. The eruption was too small to register as a flare but solar scientists are still excited. Most eruptions on the sun are caused by magnetic reconnection and small events are no exception. Tracking the location of the brightest regions will help determine the footpoints of the flare. Keywords: Focus Mode, Loop Expansion Filters: Be_Thin |
