XRT Focus Mode Catalog

Several weeks out of the year, Hinode focuses on a single active region. This is usually done during eclipse season, when the Earth will sometimes pass in between the spacecraft and the Sun. By focusing on a single target, Hinode observes how that region evolves over long periods of time.

Hinode XRT has complied a list of the focus mode observations along with movies of the targets to help scientists quickly find regions to study. The catalog provides MP4 movies of the active regions and provides details about the observations and whether flares were observed.

You can access the focus mode catalog under the Data tab on the XRT webpages.
